‘’Review The Endless Travels of President Bio’’

The All People’s Congress Party ( APC), 2028, Flagbearer Aspirant, Dr. Kaifala Marah has on Thursday 10th July 2025, called on President Julius Maada Bio to review the travel policy of the presidency and reduce overseas travel.
“ The endless string of travel is causing mayhem to the treasury amidst poor revenue generation, high cost of borrowing and the government inability to meet statutory obligations like timely payment of salaries” Dr. Marah stated.

The seasoned public finance and governance expert with over 23 years of experience in economic management, international diplomacy, government reform and strategic leadership made this statement at the Bintumani Conference Center, Aberdeen, Freetown at a town hall meeting on the topic: Charting Sierra Leone’s Future Together – Sierra Leone at crossroads.

The multi-talented politician further stated that the frequent travels of the President opens floodgate of travels and as such, everyone else travels. He also zoomed on the fact that the frequent travel of the president make him loses the grip of the president on affairs of State. “ How – because, his absence kills the sense of urgency. State House handlers do not have the same clout as the Head of State, and as such matters would have to wait for the return of the president” he stated. In his address, Dr.Marah touched on areas like the devastating reality of the nation’s economy, the human tragedy behind the statistics, a tale of two administrations: Transformation versus Stagnation, strategic projects dumped by the SLPP government and his own proven track records.

Dr.Marah also proffered immediate actions to save the nation’s economy, these include: Fiscal Rationalization, Presidential Commitment, The Introduction of cut waste panel and the review of the wage bill.
The finance and policy expert spoke about his vision for transformation which he called the Five Pillars of Economic Revolution that has to do with strong macroeconomic foundation, fiscal discipline and government efficiency, private sector development and investment promotion, agricultural transformation and food security, energy security and infrastructure development and human capital development and social protection. Speaking on the enablers for national transformation, the versatile politician identified a credible and strong judiciary as key, leveraging creative and digital transformation, climate action and environmental sustainability and restoring international confidence and partnership.
