Shooting At Kabala…

Hon. Paran Tarawallie Speaks

Reports reaching the Day Break press has accused Hon. Paran Tarawallie, the former Clerk of Parliament on the SLPP ticket, of taking a truckload of armed police officers to kabala, where a good number of people, believed to be opposition party members and supporters were beaten, and several shots fired, resulting in a tense situation and panic among residents, who then took to the bush to save their lives, with known opposition party executive members in the district going into hiding.

Hon. Paran Tarawallie is alleged to have given the order to the police to beat supporters for coming out in their numbers to grace the APC rally in the district. Anger was heightened when the SLPP honorable learnt that a good number of NGC supporters crossed over to the APC in that gathering.

However, some politicians have condemned the act of the MP, who they had perceived as a decent politician, but his actions have disappointed them. Many said that he was a mentor to them, but are now disappointed by his behavior. They maintained that Politics is not a do or die game, and the constitution gives people the right to belong to any party of their choice, and should not be forced against their will to join any party. They furthered that Election is a game, and politicians should know how to talk to people and convince them to join them. “We should not take this game as a do or die thing, we are all one people,” they stressed.
