President of the Sierra Leone Mixed Martial Arts Association and team on Friday 15th September, 2023, visited the Minister of Sports, Madam Augusta James-Teima at her Bishop House office in Freetown.
President of the Association, Saidu Sesay said they were very happy to meet the new Sports Minister, congratulated her on her appointment.

“Madam Minister, we pray for God to give you wisdom and understanding as you carry on with your duties”, he noted.
He told the Minister about their pending national activities scheduled for the 23rd September and 16th December, 2023.
He extended an invitation to the Minister to witness the program, also informing her about their website and media department with TV facilities to market their Association.
The President spoke about the challenges, including the lack of finance and facilities for their training sessions
Madam Minister thanked them for the courtesy visit. “I know all of you have good plans for my Ministry. Come and let us work as one united family so that sports can make a difference in our country.”

The Minister added: “Thanks also for affiliating with your international partners. It shows how committed you are in promoting your Association. Continue your good work; the sky will be your limit.
“Concerning the land issue, we will find a solution. We are also going to introduce ranking systems for associations, and that’s going to be based on performance. Please try to extend your activities to the regions so that they too can benefit from Association”, she ended.
Permanent Secretary, Joseph T. Kany appealed to them to send their calendar of activities to the Ministry.
