Surveyor, Two Accomplices Caught with Kush

A surveyor, a civil engineer and a businessman, Janet Mariama Kamara, Thaimu Kargbo, and Abu Bakarr Conteh, appeared before Magistrate Mustapha Braima Jah of the Pademba Road Magistrate Court No. 2 in Freetown on two counts charge of drug possession and dealing.

According to the charge sheet, the accused were arrested on October 4, 2025, at Sahara Hotel in Makeni, Northern Province, after being found with 37 half-filled polythene bags containing the prohibited drug Kush, without lawful authority.

Prosecutor A.B.N. Taylor Kamara Esq. requested a short adjournment to prepare evidence and serve the defense.

Defense Counsel Z. Denkeh Esq. applied for bail, arguing that the accused are Sierra Leonean residents with reliable sureties.

However, Magistrate Jah refused bail, citing the seriousness of the offence, and ordered that the accused be remanded at the Male and Female correctional centers in Freetown.

The matter was adjourned to November 6, 2025 for further hearing.
