Thirty-two year -old Abdulai Fofanah a trader made another appearance before Magistrate John Manso Fornah of Pademba Road Court No.2 in Freetown on a count charge to wit Larceny by a Servant Contrary to Section 17 (1) (a) of the Larceny Act 1916
According to the particulars of offence on diverse dates between the year 2024 and Friday 5th September 2025 at Malama Thomas Street and ECOWAS Street of the Central business district in Freetown being employed as a shop attendant by Hassan Sesay and Linda Sesay did steal goods seventy pieces of Sofa Chair cover, sixty eight pieces of window curtains, eighty four years backpack and other assorted items equivalent to the total value of three hundred and twenty nine thousand six hundred Leones(329,600) Property of Sesay and Linda Sesay his masters
When the charge was read and explained to the defendant no plea was taken.
Assistant Superintendent of Police Isatu Baba Musa lead Prosecution witness number one Hassan Sesay a business man dealing in house hold materials stationery at ECOWAS Street in Freetown he recognise the defense as his shop assistant he recall on the above date something transpired between himself and the defendant his wide Linda Sesay called him from China on phone and told him to look at the items she had forwarded to him which are items they used to sell in their shop which includes window curtains she asked him if he was the one that sold them to one of their customers Fatu Palawa the witness said he answered in the negative he then told his wife to engage the said customer where she got the said items from. After a while his wife called him and gave him information about the accused as the person who sold the items to the customer Fatu Palawa upon the information she alerted the police at the CID Headquarter. The police officers came to his shop and they were there together with the defendant around 7:30 pm
the following day. The accused had admitted that he has some of the goods at his resident. The witness said himself the defendant together with the police officers visited the house of the accused at Kroobay where a search warrant was conducted and some of his items were discovered which were used as Exhibits and are currently in the custody of several items were missing in the shop which includes Soffa Chair covers, window curtains, African dress and other assorted items equivalent to (329,600) the following day they went to the business place of the defendant where the discovered 120 pieces Blouce materials all the items that was discovered from the defendant are currently at the police custody as exhibit. The accused person later made statement to the police he concluded
Meanwhile Magistrate Fornah refused bail based on the seriousness of the offence charged and adjourned the mater to the 13th October 2025.
