NRA Shuts Down Dangote Cement (SL) Factory

The National Revenue Authority (NRA) has officially sealed off Dangote Cement (SL) Ltd on August 25, 2025, due to an unpaid Freight Levy Liability dating back to 2020. The outstanding amount totals $653,300, prompting the NRA’s Non-Tax Revenue Department, led by the Commissioner Tom Vandy, including the Deputy Commissioner NTR and the Domestic Tax Department Compliance unit to enforce a complete shutdown of the company’s facilities.

The closure was done at the Administrative Office, Control Room and Production Room preventing any access to the premises. This decisive action underscores the NRA’s commitment to enforcing tax compliance and recovering outstanding revenues from defaulters.

It could be recalled that the NRA some week ago sealed the office of EDSA for tax default. What citizens are asking is that,  why it is now NRA is discovering Dangote’s tax evasion  in 2025?  More revelations to come out in weeks to come.
