The Vice President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, has on 12th March, 2025 paid a courtesy visit to the Port of Freetown, where he was received by the Director General of the Sierra Leone Ports and Harbours Authority (SLPHA), Mr. Yankuba Askia Bio.

During the visit, Dr. Jalloh was taken on a tour of the port facilities, where he observed ongoing port operations and infrastructure developments. The Director General briefed VP Juldeh Jalloh of the authority’s strategic initiatives aimed at improving efficiency, security, and trade facilitation.

As part of the tour, the Vice President also visited the port’s transit point, where he assessed the movement of goods through the facility. The visit emphasized the government’s commitment to improving port infrastructure and strengthening Sierra Leone’s position as a key maritime hub in the sub-region.

Dr. Jalloh commended the leadership of the SLPHA for their efforts in modernizing the port operations and reaffirmed the government’s support in ensuring the port remains a vital driver of economic growth and international trade.
