President Bio Will Finish His Second Term
Mohamed Warisay, who now parades himself as the so-called “Spokesperson for Electoral Justice,” must immediately desist from spreading misinformation and political propaganda aimed at creating unnecessary tension and confusion among Sierra Leoneans. His recent utterances suggesting that President Julius Maada Bio will not complete his constitutional term in office are not only baseless but also deeply irresponsible.
Let it be made abundantly clear to all Sierra Leoneans—both at home and abroad—that President Bio was democratically elected by the people of Sierra Leone, and he will serve his full term in accordance with the Constitution of the Republic. No amount of political noise, manufactured confusion, or media propaganda will alter this constitutional reality.
Warisay’s attempt to mislead the public is part of a larger pattern of deliberate misinformation being pushed by a faction of supporters loyal to Dr. Samura Kamara, who continue to pursue their political ambitions through non-democratic means. The people of Sierra Leone deserve better than this—our democracy must be built on truth, facts, and respect for constitutional processes.
Instead of fanning the flames of division and fueling false hopes, Warisay should channel his energy into promoting peace, national unity, and political maturity. Misleading people into believing that a sitting president will be removed outside of constitutional mechanisms is dangerous, reckless, and an affront to the rule of law.
We urge all Sierra Leoneans to remain focused, reject false narratives, and support the democratic institutions that guarantee our peace and stability. President Bio remains firmly in office and will finish his term, after which the democratic process will take its natural and lawful course. Until then, the noise from political propagandists like Warisay should be dismissed for what it truly is—misguided rhetoric aimed at undermining national cohesion.
The future of Sierra Leone is bigger than any one individual or political faction. Let us all work together to protect it.
