The Government of Sierra Leone through the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development (MoPED) has issued a strong public notice disowning an organisation operating under the name “World Changing Centre Charity”.
In a Public Notice from the NAO Building, Tower Hill, Freetown, dated 2026 and signed by the Development Secretary, MoPED categorically states that “World Changing Centre Charity” is NOT a registered Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) in Sierra Leone.
The Ministry further states that the organisation is NOT recognised by the Government of Sierra Leone to operate or implement any programme within the country.
According to the notice, the general public, development partners, and international organisations are accordingly required not to have any dealings with this organisation.
In a more serious tone, the Ministry has called on any member of the public, or any organisation, with information regarding funds received by “World Changing Centre Charity” for the implementation of any programme in Sierra Leone to report such information to the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development or the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Sierra Leone Police.
The one-page notice ends with the stamp and signature of the Development Secretary, Ministry of Planning and Economic Development.
This means anyone donating, partnering, or working with World Changing Centre Charity is doing so at their own risk, as government will not be held responsible.
It also raises questions: Who are the people behind World Changing Centre Charity? What programmes have they been implementing? Where have they been operating and who has been funding them?
As at press time, efforts to reach World Changing Centre Charity for their response proved futile.
