The Embassy of the Republic of Sierra Leone in Seoul presents its highest compliments to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Sierra Leone, all Diplomatic and Consular Missions, International Organizations, and the Sierra Leonean Diaspora Community.
This Mission has the distinct honor to officially convey a historic milestone in the bilateral architecture between the Republic of Sierra Leone and the Republic of Korea.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs Korea has officially confirmed the establishment of a permanent, resident Embassy in Freetown, Sierra Leone, relocating jurisdiction from Abuja effective July 14, 2026.
Effective July 14th, 2026, South Korea will amend its regulations to formally transition and relocate its diplomatic and consular jurisdiction over Sierra Leone away from Abuja, Nigeria, straight to our capital, Freetown.
This historic achievement is a direct result of the deepening bonds of trust and shared economic vision between our two nations.
Having a resident Korean Embassy on our soil will drastically fast-track bilateral trade, direct investments, and consular services.
