Abubakarr Alharazim, Founder and Leader of the Humble Africans Development Party (HADP), has declared the party’s readiness to contest Sierra Leone’s 2028 General Elections, unveiling what he described as a people-centred vision for national unity, economic growth, rural development, and accountable leadership.
Speaking during a live radio interview with broadcaster Lamarana Bah, Abubakarr Alharazim confirmed that HADP intends to participate fully in the 2028 elections. He further revealed that senior party officials and members have endorsed him to lead the party as its presidential candidate.
According to Abubakarr Alharazim, the Humble Africans Development Party was founded on the principle of Revolutionary Nationalism, a philosophy that places Sierra Leone and the welfare of its people above all other interests. He stated that the country’s development challenges extend beyond political competition and are deeply rooted in poverty, corruption, poor governance, unemployment, and the continued marginalisation of ordinary citizens.
Abubakarr Alharazim explained that his experiences growing up in Sierra Leone, combined with opportunities to observe development models in other countries, convinced him that Sierra Leone possesses the resources and human potential needed to achieve lasting prosperity. He stressed that with responsible leadership, effective management of national resources, and investment in people, the nation can overcome its longstanding challenges.
The HADP Leader emphasised that national unity remains the cornerstone of the party’s agenda. Abubakarr Alharazim argued that political, tribal, and regional divisions have hindered national progress for far too long. He maintained that bringing Sierra Leoneans together under a shared vision of development would create the foundation for lasting peace, stability, and sustainable economic growth.
Outlining the party’s development priorities, Abubakarr Alharazim proposed the establishment of Agricultural Development Banks, Chiefdom Farms, Vocational Training Centres, and Skills Development Institutes across the country. He noted that these initiatives would boost food production, create employment opportunities for young people, strengthen local economies, and reduce poverty, particularly in rural communities.
According to Abubakarr Alharazim, increased investment in rural areas would help discourage the growing migration of young people to Freetown and other urban centres. He said this approach would ease pressure on urban infrastructure while promoting balanced and inclusive national development throughout Sierra Leone.
The HADP Leader further criticised what he described as a pattern of short-term political promises and reactive governance. Abubakarr Alharazim argued that Sierra Leone requires long-term policies focused on transforming education, healthcare, agriculture, infrastructure, technology, and economic opportunities for future generations.
Addressing questions regarding his eligibility to seek the presidency, Abubakarr Alharazim clarified that although he has spent time overseas, he remains solely a Sierra Leonean citizen and does not hold dual nationality. He affirmed his willingness to return permanently to Sierra Leone to lead HADP’s political campaign and contribute directly to national development.
Responding to speculation linking politicians from other parties to HADP, Abubakarr Alharazim urged journalists and media institutions to continue educating the public on Sierra Leone’s political laws. He noted that individuals wishing to join another political party must first resign from their existing party before becoming members of a new one.
Without commenting on specific individuals, Abubakarr Alharazim reaffirmed the Humble Africans Development Party’s commitment to transparency, accountability, integrity, and respect for the rule of law. He stated that his decision to enter politics is motivated by a desire to improve the lives of Sierra Leoneans rather than pursue personal ambition.
Speaking on the party’s growth and development, Abubakarr Alharazim disclosed that HADP has worked diligently to meet all legal requirements for political party registration, including the establishment of executive structures and regional offices across the country. He revealed that the party currently maintains offices in Freetown, Port Loko, Makeni, Bo, and Kenema, while membership remains open to all Sierra Leoneans who share its vision for national transformation.
Abubakarr Alharazim further revealed that the movement has thus far been sustained largely through his personal contributions and the support of committed members. However, he emphasised that the Humble Africans Development Party belongs to the people of Sierra Leone and is dedicated to building a nation founded on unity, accountability, opportunity, and sustainable development.
In concluding the interview, Abubakarr Alharazim appealed to Sierra Leoneans across political, regional, ethnic, and religious lines to unite behind a common national purpose. He stated that the future of Sierra Leone depends not on partisan divisions but on collective commitment, hard work, patriotism, and a shared determination to build a peaceful, united, and prosperous nation.
