PLANT A TREE AND THANK ME LATER
In May 2019 (exactly 7 years ago), RCBank was part of its Corporate Social Responsibility partnered with a local organisation – Keeping Hope Alive to plant trees on a piece of land along the Masiaka/Bo Highway. These trees have not only blossomed into an imposing little forest on that small patch of land, they have continued to remind us about our responsibility to protect and preserve our environment.

When you plant a tree, you have invariably reduced atmospheric carbon dioxide, releases oxygen, filters air pollution, and provides vital habitats for local wildlife.
When you plant a TREE; The leaves act as natural filters, absorbing harmful pollutants and producing fresh oxygen.
When you plant a tree; the tree absorbs Carbon dioxide and converts into stored carbon. This helps combat global warming while providing shade that lowers surrounding temperatures.
When you Plant a tree; it develops a canopy and root systems that offer shelter and food sources for local birds, insects, and small mammals.
Also know that when you plant a tree: the tree keep shades and shades keep buildings cooler in the dry season- lowering air conditioning costs; mature, healthy trees significantly increase the aesthetic appeal and overall value of a property and spending time near green spaces and trees has been proven to reduce stress and boost human health.
At RCBank, its mission is not only to make profit. They are equally there to help us confront the broader challenges we face as a community. That is why every year, Rokel Commercial Bank celebrate the anniversary of those beautiful trees at Petifu Kangallop to keep reminding us about our sacred responsibility to the environment we live in.
