While the scoreboard registered goals and saves, the ultimate victory belonged to the community, as the match served as a vibrant platform to campaign against the escalating abuse of drugs among the youth.
The Limba Corner Playing Ground was electrified as fans, community stakeholders, and youth groups gathered to witness the clash between the two sides. From the first whistle to the last, both teams displayed exceptional sportsmanship, proving that the beautiful game can be a powerful catalyst for social change and a constructive alternative to substance abuse.
A Distinguished Presence
The event was significantly elevated by the distinguished presence of the Special Guest of Honor, Umar Faud Bawoh (AWWO), who serves as the Chairman of the Grassfield Community and a respected Member of the National Youth Commission.
Bawoh’s attendance underscored the critical role of leadership in tackling societal vices. Addressing the enthusiastic crowd, he commended Emirates City Organization and GUIDE for their foresight in using football to address a pressing national issue. He emphasized that the youth are the bedrock of the nation’s future and must be shielded from the devastating scourge of illicit drugs.
