The Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) and Deputy Speaker of Parliament has commended the Executive Director for his exceptional leadership, dedication, and commitment to public service.
Speaking during a recent PAC hearing, Hon. Tawa Conteh noted that although many people initially questioned the Executive Director’s appointment, he has since demonstrated through hard work and performance that he is deserving of the position.
“Many people believed he was appointed because of his name, but he has proven through his actions that he deserves the position on merit,” Hon. Tawa Conteh stated.
The PAC Chairman praised the SLRSA Boss for his hands-on approach to leadership, noting that he is often seen actively engaging with staff and supervising operations on the ground.
“If you visit his office early in the morning, you will either find him working alongside his team in the field or already at his desk attending to official duties. That level of commitment is commendable and should serve as an example to other public servants,” he said.
Hon. Tawa Conteh further lauded the Executive Director’s performance before the Committee, emphasizing that his ability to respond comprehensively to questions demonstrated a strong understanding of the institution’s operations and challenges.
“The fact that you have been able to provide answers to all our queries shows that you have a firm grasp of the affairs of the institution under your supervision. It reflects competence, preparedness, and dedication to duty,” he remarked.
The Deputy Speaker also recounted an occasion when he personally observed the SLRSA Boss supervising operations while dressed in safety gear and working directly with his staff, describing the act as evidence of genuine leadership and commitment to service delivery.
According to Hon. Tawa Conteh, effective leadership is not about titles or public perception but about results and dedication. He noted that the SLRSA Boss has demonstrated a clear determination to justify the confidence placed in him and to improve the performance of the Authority.
The PAC Chairman concluded by commending the Executive Director for his professionalism, hard work, and commitment to institutional accountability, urging him to continue maintaining the high standards that have earned him recognition from Parliament.
The commendation came during the Committee’s oversight proceedings, where members expressed satisfaction with the Executive Director’s responses and overall stewardship of the Authority.
