VP Juldeh Jalloh Champions Child Nutrition at Global South Confab

Germany, 1 July 2026 – The Vice President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, has concluded a two-day high-level engagement at the Hamburg Sustainability Conference (HSC) in Germany.

During the conference, the Vice President engaged with global leaders, policy makers, and development partners on some of the world’s most pressing challenges, including the global implications of the Strait of Hormuz crisis. The two-day conference provided an invaluable platform for participants to exchange ideas, learn from one another, and strengthen partnerships for a more sustainable and resilient future.

The Vice President was honoured to contribute to two important high-level discussions: one on advancing child nutrition during the critical first 1,000 days of life, and another on the global implications of the Strait of Hormuz crisis.

During these engagements, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh highlighted the unique vulnerabilities faced by small economies such as Sierra Leone and underscored the urgent need for more flexible financing mechanisms to enable countries to withstand and recover from global shocks.

“I leave Hamburg encouraged by the shared commitment to practical solutions and stronger international cooperation,” the Vice President said.

He reaffirmed that Sierra Leone will continue to be an active voice in shaping a more resilient, inclusive, and equitable future for countries across the Global South.
