Addressing a gathering of entrepreneurs, corporate executives, government representatives and members of the diplomatic community, the First Lady passionately presented Sierra Leone as an emerging investment destination endowed with abundant natural resources, a youthful workforce, expanding economic opportunities and a government committed to creating an enabling environment for investors.

She emphasized that Sierra Leone is open for business and called on Canadian investors to take advantage of the country’s vast opportunities in agriculture, mining, tourism, fisheries, manufacturing, renewable energy, healthcare, education and technology.

According to the First Lady, investment is one of the most effective tools for transforming lives, creating employment and stimulating sustainable economic development. She noted that strengthening economic partnerships between Sierra Leone and Canada would not only boost trade but also promote innovation, skills transfer and long-term prosperity for both countries.

“Our nation is blessed with enormous potential, and we welcome genuine investors who are prepared to partner with us in building a stronger and more prosperous Sierra Leone,” she said.

Mrs. Bio highlighted the importance of investing in people, particularly women and young people, stressing that human capital development remains central to the country’s development agenda. She reiterated that empowering women through education, entrepreneurship and access to healthcare creates stronger families, resilient communities and a more productive economy.

She further praised the invaluable contributions of Sierra Leoneans living abroad, describing the diaspora as ambassadors and strategic partners in national development. She encouraged them to continue promoting Sierra Leone’s positive image, attracting investment opportunities and supporting initiatives that contribute to economic growth.

The First Lady also used the platform to showcase Sierra Leone’s rich cultural heritage, peaceful environment and hospitality, noting that these qualities make the country an attractive destination not only for investment but also for tourism and cultural exchange.

Participants at the event commended her presentation, describing it as inspiring and visionary. Several investors expressed interest in exploring opportunities across various sectors, while business leaders welcomed the opportunity to establish stronger commercial links with Sierra Leone.

The Sierra Leone–Canada Trade, Investment and Cultural Show brought together government officials, investors, entrepreneurs, development partners and members of the diaspora to promote trade, investment, cultural exchange and bilateral cooperation.
