The Director General of the National Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NPRA), Brima Baluwa Koroma, has presented a complete modern musical set including 5KVA generator to renowned cultural artist Yea Saffie, on behalf of His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio, in support of her continuous efforts to promote and preserve Sierra Leone’s rich cultural heritage through music.
The presentation fulfills a commitment made by President Bio to the management of the Yea Saffie Cultural Group following the team’s sustained performance in recent times.
The gesture underscores the President’s continued support for Sierra Leone’s creative and cultural industry, particularly artists and groups contributing to the preservation and promotion of the country’s traditions through music and cultural performances.
Presenting the equipment, Brima Baluwa Koroma commended Yea Saffie and her team for their dedication, commitment and passion for preserving Sierra Leone’s cultural heritage.
“Your unique talent and creativity promote our country’s richest values. This equipment should serve as a platform to strengthen your productions and expand your contribution to our cultural identity. I urge the group to uphold teamwork, sincerity, and unity to ensure continued growth.” Baluwa Koroma affirmed.
President Bio praised Yea Saffie for using her unique talent and creativity to promote the country’s rich cultural values through music, describing the group’s work as an important contribution to Sierra Leone’s cultural identity.
The NPRA boss also urged the group to use the equipment responsibly and for its intended purpose, stressing that the support should serve as a platform to strengthen their productions, increase their visibility and expand their contribution to the cultural and creative industry.
Receiving the equipment, Alpha Beratay, Manager of the Yea Saffie Cultural Group, expressed appreciation to President Bio for what he described as a timely and significant gesture of support.
He said the equipment would provide renewed motivation for the group to intensify its efforts in promoting Sierra Leonean culture through music.
“We are extremely grateful to President Bio, this gift. has come at an important stage of the group’s development and this will motivate us to work even harder,” Beratay said.
Beratay added that the group is now equipped and in full preparedness to continue producing thought-provoking cultural songs that celebrate Sierra Leone’s traditions and contribute to the preservation of the country’s cultural heritage.
The presentation marks another recognition of the important role played by cultural artists in promoting Sierra Leone’s identity, traditions and heritage through the creative arts.
