Rokel Commercial Bank has donated NLe 30,000 (Thirty Thousand New Leones) and assistance with the decoration of the summit venue towards the successful hosting of the Second Africa Twins Summit, scheduled for November 20–22, 2026, at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Freetown.

The commitment was made by the Managing Director of Rokel Commercial Bank, Dr. Walton Ekundayo Gilpin, during a courtesy visit by a delegation from Twins and Multiple Births Sierra Leone (TMBSL) on November 3, 2026, at the bank’s Headquarters in Freetown.

The delegation led by the President of TMBSL, Dr. Kelvin Vincent, visited the bank to formally brief its management on the upcoming summit and seek institutional partnership and support for the successful organisation of the three-day continental event.

During the engagement, Dr. Vincent expressed appreciation to the Managing Director and management of Rokel Commercial Bank for granting the organisation the opportunity to discuss its plans for the summit.

He explained that the Second Africa Twins Summit would bring together twins, triplets, quadruplets, multiple-birth families, international delegates, policymakers, development partners and other stakeholders from across Africa.

He further highlighted the summit’s theme: “Twins of Africa Twinning Against Poverty – Promoting Twins Excellence Across the 54 African Nations.”

According to the TMBSL President, the summit seeks to promote the welfare, inclusion, empowerment and recognition of twins and multiple-birth families while strengthening cooperation and collaboration among African countries.

In his response, Dr. Walton Ekundayo Gilpin thanked the delegation for the visit and commended Twins and Multiple Births Sierra Leone for its initiative and commitment to promoting the welfare and interests of twins and multiple-birth families.

He also recognised the importance of bringing together stakeholders across the African continent to discuss issues affecting multiple-birth families and promote their social development.

Demonstrating the bank’s commitment to supporting the initiative, Dr. Gilpin donated NLe 30,000 in financial assistance, alongside support for the decoration of the Radisson Blu Hotel, the official venue for the summit.

The delegation warmly welcomed the bank’s generous contribution and expressed profound appreciation to Dr. Gilpin and the entire management and staff of Rokel Commercial Bank.

TMBSL noted that the support would significantly strengthen preparations for the summit and contribute to making the event successful and memorable for delegates and participants.

The organisation further described the bank’s gesture as an important demonstration of corporate social responsibility and a commitment to supporting initiatives that promote inclusion, social development and the welfare of families in Sierra Leone and across Africa.

The courtesy visit ended on a positive note, with both parties expressing optimism about maintaining a cordial relationship and exploring opportunities for continued collaboration.
