SLPHA Dialogues with UAE Investors on Port & Railway Partnership

The Sierra Leone Ports and Harbours Authority (SLPHA) on 29th April 2026 held a high-level meeting with potential investors from the United Arab Emirates in Freetown to explore strategic investments in the maritime sector.

Led by Director-General Mr. Yankuba Askia Bio, discussions focused on expanding port infrastructure in key locations including Solima, Moyamba, and Kent, as well as revitalizing   railway networks to improve cargo movement and boost trade efficiency.

The UAE delegation expressed strong interest, with both sides committing to continued engagement toward mutually beneficial investment partnerships.

This marks another important milestone in positioning Sierra Leone as a competitive maritime and logistics hub.
