AFKAN Construction Firm Applauded for Quality Standard

A high-level delegation from the Ministry of Works and Public Assets has conducted a comprehensive inspection of the ongoing Waterloo High Court and Magistrate Court construction project to assess progress, evaluate the quality of work, and engage community stakeholders.

The delegation, led by Chief Director Ing. Paul Bockarie, expressed satisfaction with the progress made, while community leaders and government officials commended the local contractor, AFKAN Construction Firm, for its speed, commitment, and high construction standards.

 The Deputy Chairman described the project as one of the fastest-moving government infrastructure developments in the country.

He praised AFKAN Construction Firm for its professionalism and dedication, noting that the pace of work reflects the contractor’s commitment to supporting national development.

 He further stated that upon completion, the state-of-the-art judicial complex would significantly enhance Waterloo’s status and become one of the country’s finest judicial facilities.

 The Deputy Assistant Registrar for the Rural District, Mr. Mohamed Bangura, said he regularly visits the site to monitor construction activities and ensure strict adherence to approved specifications and standards.

He commended AFKAN’s Managing Director, Mr. Fenton Kanu, and his team for their tireless efforts to complete the project within schedule.

 Community leaders, including the Headman of Waterloo, expressed appreciation to the Government of Sierra Leone for prioritizing the decentralization of justice and to AFKAN Construction Firm for its efficient execution of the project.

He noted that the modern court complex, which is nearing completion, will bring justice services closer to residents of the Rural District and improve access to the judiciary.

 Director of Operations, Ing. Monica Kamara, assured stakeholders that only high-quality materials are being used to ensure the durability and sustainability of the facility.

“We are on site every day to ensure that what is approved on paper is faithfully implemented and that value for money is achieved throughout the construction process,” she said.

 The Ministry’s Assistant Procurement Director, Mr. Maada P. Konteh, also praised AFKAN Construction Firm for its impressive performance and adherence to the project timeline, expressing confidence that the facility would be completed as scheduled.
