The Zero Corruption Campaign (ZCC) has formally presented the United Nations youth-led report on corruption to the Minister of Youth Affairs, Ibrahim Sannoh, during a meeting held on Friday 10th April, 2026 at the Ministry’s Conference Room.
The report titled “Stolen Futures: How Corruption Hurts Young People – Findings and Recommendations from UNODC’s Youth-Led Integrity Advisory Board Regional Consultation 2025”, was developed under the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) through its GRACE Initiative and reflects the lived experiences of young people on the impact of corruption globally, with actionable recommendations for reform.
Presenting the report, the Executive Director of ZCC, Elison John, expressed appreciation to the Ministry of Youth Affairs for its ongoing efforts in creating opportunities for young people to thrive. He commended the Minister for accepting to officially receive the report and stressed the importance of collective action in tackling corruption.
Mr. John noted that corruption continues to undermine opportunities for youth, limiting access to education, employment, and fair systems, and emphasized the need for strong institutional collaboration to address these challenges.
In his response, the Minister of Youth Affairs, Ibrahim Sannoh, thanked ZCC for the presentation and described the report as timely and important. He assured the organization of the Ministry’s support in advancing the report’s recommendations and reaffirmed his commitment to promoting integrity, transparency, and accountability in governance.
The Minister further encouraged ZCC to continue its advocacy and engagement with young people, highlighting the critical role youth play in shaping a corruption-free future.
The engagement forms part of ZCC’s broader efforts to localize the UNODC GRACE Initiative and strengthen youth participation in anti-corruption reforms across Sierra Leone.
