The Sierra Leone Ports and Harbours Authority (SLPHA) is proud to support the successful hosting of the 2026 ECOWAS Mid-Year Summit by providing safe, reliable ferry services and warm hospitality for Heads of State and other dignitaries Shuttling between Freetown and Lungi.

Under the leadership of the Director General, Yankuba Askia Bio, with support from the Ministry of Transport and Aviation led by Amb. Alhaji Fanday Turay, the initiative augments Government’s broader efforts to deliver a successful regional summit while showcasing Sierra Leone’s capacity to host major international events.

Aboard MV Muzuk on Tuesday 14th July, 2026, Deputy Minister of Transport and Aviation, Rex Bonapha commended the Authority’s “top notch” ferry operations and hospitality, describing the SLPHA’s contribution as a shining example of how state institutions should support national initiatives.
As Sierra Leone hosts one of West Africa’s most important regional gatherings, SLPHA remains committed to delivering seamless maritime transport services that enhance the country’s image and strengthen regional integration.
